I've been slacking on the posts. Four days is the longest I've gone since I started this thing. I've got the PMS blues for sure. I feel like I constantly have that? I haven't wanted to look on Craigslist, look at rooms, etc. I think I've burned myself out just a wee bit for now. My friend told me he that we should make our cross country trip a food lover's roadtrip. So I have a new OCD project to work on! I checked out Route 80 and found a map with all the cities along its path. I went on Yelp and started looking at places to eat. I got as far as Sacramento, and Sac is first on my list. This will be a long project indeed.

I went to my legal assistant meeting last night and had a great chat with the ladies. You can tell which ones were the adventure bugs. Their eyes were bright and they cooed and sighed and told me how great it was to be able to pack up and move where you want to be.

It sounds weird, but I almost see the packing up and moving bit as a weakness. I am a pretty restless person by nature. I get bored easily, and if something stops challenging me, I walk away from it. I feel that life is too short to not have amazing experiences, and I tend to toss myself into really challenging positions just to see if I can survive. So far, so good. But, when I see or hear about people who grew up the same place their whole life. They have the same childhood friends and know their town like their own hands, I do get a wee twinge of jealousy. Not that I would want to settle down where I grew up in Florida. No ma'am. But, I am always pulled in two directions, one of staying put and the other of seeking new adventures. Will I ever tire of new, life altering adventures? I hope not, but I hope I can find a partner just as adventurous as me in the future.

I am so relieved it's Friday. It was a very long week at work. Not much action. The court of appeal turned out to be a bust too. I didn't get to hear the oral argument I wanted to hear because the other party didn't show up, so the guy I wanted to hear decided not to give his argument. But, I did get to hear about an interesting embezzlement case and a jurisdiction case. And, I lied. There is no stained glass in that room (except the room in my head), but there are flower carvings surrounded by beautiful carved boxes of different sizes. When you look up at the dome, it feels a little bit like going down the rabbit hole.

The sun made a quick appearance and has now gone back into hibernation. We have about 3 weeks of heavy rain someone told me? Crap!

  1. Dangerdo,

I don't know if you've ever watched Man vs Food, but it's a fun tv show that showcases some great food joints across the US. I thought it might be a good reference for you when picking out your roadtrip restaurants:

Wish I was going! Don't forget to tell us all about them!!!
